7-keto DHEA is a metabolite of the adrenal hormone dehydroepiandrosteronen (DHEA). 7-keto is a naturally occurring byproduct of DHEA (minus the steroidal component) that is produced in the adrenal glands, brain and skin. 7-keto DHEA may enhance immune function, slow down muscle loss, decrease physical stress, improve thyroid and brain function, improve cholesterol levels, and increase metabolic rate to accelerate weight loss in healthy adults.
As we age, levels of 7-Keto drops, slowing down our metabolism which can result in weight gain. But studies show that taking a 7-Keto supplement can rev up our metabolism to help burn fat off the ole belly. The best part: it’s extremely safe. Recent studies have shown great results. Adult study participants took 200mg of 7-Keto, along with an 1800 cal. diet and exercise program, and they saw a significant increase in metabolism in just two months. 7-Keto, brings your metabolism back up, and improves thyroid function .The participants who were taking placebos lost only a third the weight that the participants taking 7-Keto lost.
7-keto DHEA has also been shown to improve immune function. Decreases in DHEA and 7-keto can lead to dominance of the stress hormone cortisol, which can contribute to aging, insulin resistance, disease, painful joints and muscles. Taking only 25mg per day for five days significantly raised HDL or good cholesterol. 7-keto may also help to improve brain function and memory by helping neurons establish contact with each other, increasing the efficiency of an aging brain.

7-Keto DHEA does seem to help in Multiple Sclerosis sufferers. One study by Dr. Roberts in 1990 indicated that M.S. victims had low DHEA levels, which were improved by DHEA administration. It was also noted that the majority of these patients had discernable improvement in their daily quality of life including increased energy levels, better dexterity, greater limb strength, decreased sensations of numbness, more power in the lower limbs and even an increase in libido.

Anyone suffering from hypertension that is NOT taking medication should avoid using any form of DHEA, as there is a slight risk that it can increase blood pressure.
